Kestrel Lodge Campsite

Set at the foot of Skiddaw in the hills above Bassenthwaite Lake, and only a short drive from Keswick. Our campsite is a small, friendly, quiet site in the Lake District that provides a back to basic camping experience, and offers a great base to relax after your outdoor adventures. There is a fire pit with every pitch and also a larger communal fire pit for cooking up those campfire treats. There’s a small honesty shop on site where you can buy fresh eggs from the chickens that roam the site, fire wood and a few other supplies.

Nearby are some lovely farm shops selling local produce nearby from Tebay Farmshop and Services on the way here to Basecamp North Lakes – Farmshop & Kitchen just outside Keswick, and many more bakeries and farm produce sold locally. If you’re wanting to dine out then there a some great restaurants and pubs nearby, from Bassenthwaite Lake Station that serve an incredible breakfast or brunch on their converted railway carriage restaurant, Ravenstone Manor Hotel or the Bistro at the Lakes Distillery. Keswick is only a short drive away with a large choice or restaurants and bars.
