Ferrygate Camping

Ferrygate Camping is a peaceful, off-grid campsite for tents, smaller campervans and roof-tents, located right next to the river with its own private water access. There are no electric hook-ups and no set pitches but we do have flushing loos and hot showers and allow campfires in 7 acres of our at-one-with-nature meadow under amazing star-lit dark skies. Campers with their own kayaks, canoes and sups can access the water (free of charge) from our private launch. We also offer for hire kayaks and canoes from our fleet of new paddle craft, available to all, not just campers! These are very sturdy and stable and great for first time paddlers to explore the quieter end of the Norfolk Broads. We are situated just fifteen minutes from the highly rated Ingham Swan and eight minutes from the Fleggburgh Kings Arms. We have two lovely farmshops nearby selling home-grown seasonal fruit and vegetables, one of which is Tacon’s – known locally for its prized asparagus and strawberries (Pick Your Own also available). In the area we have Woodforde’s Brewery, one of Norfolk’s most well known beer producers. And nearby pubs; The Lion at Thurne and The Pleasureboat, Hickling make their own gin. Needless to say, being just 10 minutes from the East Norfolk Coast, we are fortunate to have some exceptionally good Fish and Chip shops too!
